Electronic Arts hosted its EA Play Live 2020 press conference over a livestream owing to the current global circumstances. Traditionally, this conference is held during the E3 press conference in Los Angeles, USA.
There were many big announcements at the virtual event including new gameplay from Star Wars: Squadrons, upcoming updates to Apex Legends, a sneak peek into FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21, and much more. EA also revealed all the PC games that were making their way to Steam.
Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay reveal
After revealing a trailer of its upcoming first-person aerial combat shooter, EA released the first gameplay of Star Wars: Squadrons during the livestream. The game lets you take up the role of pilot and fly popular spacecrafts from Star Wars including TIE Fighters and X-Wings. It includes a short single-player campaign but there will be more focus towards a multiplayer experience. Squadrons releases on October 2 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

FIFA 21 and Madden 21 on next-gen
Although we didn’t get a full reveal, EA showcased a few clips of FIFA 21 and Madden 21 during the show. The reveal attempted to explore some of the features of the two highly popular on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X.

Apex Legends
While Season 5 is already underway for Apex Legends, developer Respawn announced a few updates coming to the game including the ‘Lost Treasures Collection’. The game will soon be making its way to Steam on PC and on the Nintendo Switch. Crossplay support will be added across all the platforms so that players on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One can play together.

Rocket Arena
EA showed its new multiplayer game called Rocket Arena that is a 3v3 shooter game. As the name suggests, the weapon of choice is going to be rockets along with abilities of the heroes. Rocket Arena comes out on July 14 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
And in other updates from the event, games including The Sims 4, Titanfall 2, A Way Out and Dead Space 3 will be joining Steam which were earlier only available on its Origin platform. A Way Out developer Hazelight announced a new game called It Takes Two which is another co-op adventure game. Finally, EA concluded the livestream with a surprise reveal about reviving its Skate series.
